OUR COMMITMENTS
QUALITY HONEYThis commitment starts right at the source where our bees harvest their honey. Honeybees gather honey within a radius of 3 km from their hive.As such, the placement of these hives are carefully planned. Uganda is blessed with fertile soilThe agricultural land is in pristine condition with farmers practicing farming using very little or no chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Colony HealthSo far Uganda honeybees have shown to be resilient to bee diseases. They are no traces of varroa mites nor any diseases affecting our bees like the rest of the world. As such, Uganda honeybees are naturally healthy and free of human introduction of antibiotics. In order to preserve the health of these bees, we takes utmost concern when it comes to issues and policies that might create any impact on the well being of the local bees colonies in Uganda. HarvestingHoney harvesting is done with care and understanding of our bees. In line with our commitment to sustainable beekeeping, we ensure that our beekeepers only harvest surplus honey from the colonies. Being located in a tropical region, our honeybees do not hibernate due to season. They are able to forage even on rainy days. TestingEvery batch of our honey harvested, samples are sent to the University of Hohenheim's, Stuttgart, Germany for melissapalynology. Should you like a digital copy of the test report, please drop us an email here (for purchasing client only). A copy of European Union Directive on Honey is available here. |
